① 영어권 문학의 저변에 깔려있는 기독교 정신을 바탕으로 아동영어 분야의 전문적 지식을 갖춘 전문인 양성한다.
② 아동영어를 연구하는데 있어서 이론적이고 추론적인 측면 외에 기술적이고 실용적인 접근방식을 통해 학문과 실용 모두에서 첨단에 설 수 있는 유능한 연구자를 양성한다.

1) 아동영어학과는 공통필수과목, 전공필수과목은 없고 전공 선택과목만 개설한다.
2) 선수과목 이수
① 석사과정에 입학한 학생 중 영어영문, 아동영어 및 유사학과이외의 전공자에 대한 선수과목은 다음과 같고 최소 9학점 이상을 이수해야 한다.

1. CE701 그림책을 통한 영미 문화연구(Picture Books for English & American Culture Awareness) 3학점
영어를 사용하는 문화권의 생활양식과 사고방식을 바탕으로 의사소통 능력을 원활하게 할 수 있도록 연구한다. 아동들에게 영미 아동문학의 글과 그림 속에 내재되어 있는 문화의 흐름을 자연스럽게 습득하여 문화 속에 잠재되어있는 영어를 이해할 수 있는 능력을 지도하는 방법을 연구한다.
The aim of this course is to understand basic concepts of British and American cultures using picture books and to learn how to internalize and apply them to the real life. Through this course, students will make a basic foundation for the understanding of English and American cultures by learning British and American's life styles, their ways of thinking, and characteristics of their societies and cultural lives. In addition, students will investigate overall British and American cultures and their differences in this course.
2. CE702 그림책과 아동영어 (Picture Books & Children’s English) 3학점
그림책을 통한 동화, 그림과 스토리텔링을 활용한 영어교육방법을 연구한다. 이론과 실제를 병행하여 아동들에게 글과 그림 속에 내재되어 있는 아동문학이 지닌 삶의 지혜를 자연스럽게 습득하고 문화 속에 잠재되어있는 영어를 이해할 수 있는 능력을 지도하는 방법을 연구한다.
This course aims to search various teaching methods of fairy tales, picture and storytelling by using picture books and to learn how to internalize and apply literary insights to the real life. Through this course, students will make a basic foundation for the understanding of English and American cultures by learning various children’s literature they read, their ways of thinking, and characteristics of their societies and cultural lives. In addition, students will develop the best teaching methods to apply.
3. CE703 영미동화읽기 및 분석 Ⅰ(Reading Children's Literature in English and AnalysisⅠ) 3학점
아동영어 교육에 활용할 수 있는 영어 동화의 유형과 특성을 익히고 이를 아동영어교육현장에 직접적용 할 수 있는 능력을 배양한다. 아동들의 흥미와 상상력을 자극하는 동화를 통한 동사의 활용과 어휘력의 확대, 심화과정을 통해 영미동화의 역사와 배경에 관한 체계적 이론연구를 병행한다.
Major works and writers of fairy tales in Euro-America from 19th to 20th centuries will be mainly dealt with in this course. Global universality of fairy tale will be investigated by searching out specific thoughts and values expressed in these literary works. Students will enhance their faculties of analytic thinking by reading fairy tales in critical ways. In particular, we will study major works in each period, considering the interconnection both of the meanings of society and the trends of thoughts.

아동문학 이해는 아동문학 개론의 기본과정으로 아동문학에 대한 지식을 아동영어교육에 효율적으로 활용하는 방법을 배우는데 목적을 두고 있다. 아동문학의 역사와 배경에 관한 체계적인 이론연구 아울러 아동문학을 활용한 영어 교재개발의 이론과 실제에 대하여 배우게 된다.
The goal of this course is to find out the significance of children's literature by reading children's literary works from 18th century to the present. In particular, students will explore major works for children in each period, while considering the trends of society and thought. They will increase faculties of comprehensive understanding by reading them in critical ways. This is to understand the human and the society from the view of human science through the literary currents of the Western society.
6. CE706 멀티미디어 아동영어교육 Ⅰ(Children's English Education through Multimedia Ⅰ) 3학점
최근 아동용 영어 학습 교재로 각광받고 있는 다양한 첨단 멀티미디어 매체를 이용하여 영어 학습을 효율적으로 할 수 있는 방법을 이론적으로 숙지하고 이것을 바탕으로 실제로 CD, 비디오, 인터넷 등의 멀티미디어 매체를 통하여 아동영어교육에 필요한 지식을 습득하고 영어구술능력을 향상시키는 데 있다.
Goals of this course are to study theories on multimedia-assisted English education, and to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for Children's English education through multimedia resources such as CD, video, computer and Internet, etc. Students will be able to experience how to use and integrate multimedia tools into children's English teaching and learning.

8. CE708 스토리텔링 (Storytelling Ⅰ) 3학점
우리나라의 영어환경에서 훌륭한 교재로 활용할 수 있는 아동문학을 바탕으로 스토리텔링에 대한 이론과 실제를 연구한다. 또한 스토리텔링을 통해 아동들의 영어 학습에 대한 동기를 유발할 수 있는 효과적인 영어지도방법의 전문성을 습득한다.
The goal of this course is to search theories and practical methods of storytelling based on the children's literary works, which in fact are very useful texts available to the English environment of Korea in EFL(English as a Foreign Language) situation. Moreover, storytelling helps children find effective ways in their learning English by increasing motives, which indeed is crucial to boost confidence in speaking English.
9. CE709 포스트모던 아동문학 (Studies of Postmodern Children’s Literature) 3학점
포스트모던 아동문학은 급변하는 현대사회문화의 특징과 특성을 이론적으로 면밀히 살펴보고 이러한 글로벌 사회가 보여주는 다원주의적이고 다문화적인 포스트모던 특수성과 개혁성을 최신에 나온 아동문학작품들을 통하여 분석하고 이해한다. 포스트모던 아동문학에 나타난 상호텍스트성, 페리택스트, 메타픽션, 유희성, 페로디, 시간과 공간의 역설 등에 대한 연구를 진행한다.
The purpose of the course is to survey academically and theoretically the various characteristics and specialities of current society and culture in rapid changes. Students will study the radical uniqueness and innovations of the global world by exposing the multivalent and muticultural trends through the analysis of Postmodern Children’s Literature published recently. For the purpose, we will investigate intertextuality, peritext, metafiction, playfulness, parody, the irony of time and space, etc.
10. CE710 애니메이션과 영어교육 (Animation and English Education Ⅰ) 3학점
효과적 아동영어 교육법 중 하나인 애니메이션을 활용한 영어교육법을 익히는데 목적을 둔다. 애니메이션이라는 매체의 특성에 대한 이론과 활용 가능한 애니메이션 교구재에 대하여 배우고 교육현장에서 애니메이션 교구재를 활용하는데 필요한 각종 교육기자재의 사용법에 대하여 익힌다.
The aim of the course is to teach children English effectively by using or reediting animations. Animation is one of the best known materials in the effectiveness in the fields of teaching English. The theories and practical applications of animation will be taught. This course researches not only the topics related to Disney Animations but also the editing skills of films and the converting methods of them from DVD to AVI.
11. CE711 스토리북활용 영어교육(Application of English Storybooks for Children)
아동발달 및 영어교육적 차원에서 다양한 아동영어 스토리북을 장르 및 단계별로 분석하고, 이를 토대로 영어 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기 지도를 위한 다양한 활동을 구안한다. 유아 및 초등 학습자의 발달단계에 적합한 스토리북 적용 영어 교수-학습 방안을 모색한다.
The course provides students how to select appropriate storybooks relevant in meeting learners' needs. Students will learn how to use various storybooks and create tasks based on their learners' developmental stages and proficiency levels.
12. CE712 놀이를 통한 영어 (Teaching Children's English through Plays Ⅰ) 3학점
아동들이 재미있는 영어 노래와 게임 등의 놀이를 통해 영어를 숙달하게 하는 수업으로 교육적이고 과학적인 영어게임과 리듬감과 어휘가 풍부한 영어노래를 중점적으로 소개하고 이에 대한 교육효과를 이론적으로 검토해본다. 그 이외에 영어학 습에 도움이 될 수 있는 놀이를 연구하고 개발한다.
The goal of this course is to fully improve children's English through chants, songs and games. Students will learn not only educational effects of the English games in terms of scientific effectiveness but also of song & chants filled with rhythmic word-powers in terms of activities in the class. Furthermore, the course will develop the various forms of physical rhythms and games which may improve children's English.
13. CE713 언어병리학 (Speech Language Pathology)
의사소통 장애와 연하 장애에 대해 살펴본다. 특히 주요 발화 구성요건들 (발성과 음성 발화 과정 (공명, 억양, 성조)과 음성 (호흡 작용의 공기역학 구성요건))을 주요하게 살펴본다.
This course examines communication disorders and swallowing disorders. In particular, the primary components of speech production are discussed: phonation, and the process of sound production (e.g., resonance, intonation, and pitch) and the voice (e.g, aeromechanical components of respiration).
14. CE714 고전동화 (Studies of Classic Fairy Tales) 3학점
18세기와 19세기의 구미를 대표하는 고전동화 작품들을 중점적으로 이해하고 분석 한다. 고전동화 작품에 나타난 전통적인 사고와 가치를 찾아서 지구촌의 공통적인 가치로 연결시켜 인간의 보편성을 살펴보는 기초과정이다. 원문 강독에 충실을 기하고, 각 작품의 분석에 도움이 되는 다양한 비평방법을 도입하여 체계적으로 연구하는 과정이다.
Well-known classic fairy tales, representing Euro-America during 18th and 20th centuries, will be dealt with specifically. The universality of fairy tales will be explored by students. They are asked to examine the thoughts and ideas deeply rooted in each of works by connecting them with common values of human's life. Students will enhance their faculties of analytic thinking by reading critically classic fairy tales.
15. CE715 아동극의 이해 (Understanding Children's Drama) 3학점
다양한 아동극 이론들을 읽고 이들 이론들과 아동극의 연결 관계 등을 연구한다. 아동극 이론을 학습한 후 아이들의 특별한 속성과 능력에 맞는 실용적인 아동극을 만들어내야 한다. 쉽고 편하고 간단하게 많은 노력이 없이도 아동의 영어를 증진시킬 수 있는 역할극이 되어야 한다. 영미문화권의 다양한 아동극 텍스트에 대하여 익히고 배우고 이를 아동영어교육에 활용할 수 있는 방법을 배운다.
This course is designed to read theories of children's dramas and to investigate the relation between these theories and dramas. Students will understand the need of children's drama in terms of their specific mentality by applying theories on children's drama. The final aim is to develop practical model of children's drama available in the fields of teaching English for children with the applied elements of the drama.
16. CE716 아동영어 듣기·말하기 지도법 ( Teaching listening and speaking ) 3학점
음성언어인 듣기·말하기의 언어적 특징 및 듣기·말하기 능력의 발달과정에 대한 이론을 고찰하고, 각 발달단계에 알맞은 음성언어 지도방법을 모색한다. 또한 아동의 인지적·정의적 수준에 적합한 음성언어 지도방법에 대하여 연구한다.
This course provides students to learn theoretical foundations of listening and speaking. It also allows students to develop appropriate teaching plans in terms of cognitive and affective levels of children.
17. CE717 아동영어 읽기·쓰기 지도법 ( Teaching reading and writing ) 3학점
문자언어인 읽기·쓰기의 언어적 특징 및 읽기·쓰기 능력의 발달과정에 대한 이론을 고찰하고, 각 발달단계에 알맞은 문자언어 지도방법을 모색한다. 또한 아동의 인지적·정의적 수준에 적합한 문자언어 지도방법에 대하여 연구한다.
This course provides students to learn theoretical foundations of reading and writing. It also allows students to develop appropriate teaching plans in terms of cognitive and affective levels of children.
18. CE718 아동영어 어휘·문법 지도법 ( Teaching vocabulary and grammar ) 3학점
영어 학습에 있어서 기본적으로 필요한 능력인 어휘·문법의 효과적인 지도를 위하여 이와 관련된 이론적 근거를 학습하고, 아동수준에 적합한 문법 및 어휘 지식을 선별하여 구체적인 지도방안을 모색한다.
The course is designed to provide an overview of essential theories in teaching English vocabulary and grammar for EFL children. Students will learn various practical approaches to teaching vocabulary and grammar.
19. CE719 디지털 문화와 아동문학 (Digital Culture and Children's Literature) 3학점
디지털 문화와 아동문학은 빠르게 변화하는 시대에 따라 아동문학에 대한 지식을 아동영어교육에 효율적으로 활용하는 방법을 컴퓨터 및 미디어활동을 접목시켜 배우는데 목적을 두고 있다.
Digital culture has changed our global world rapidly with the development of computer applications and media activities. For the modern world, we must integrate our knowledge and information of children's literature with the applicable methods of computer-based medias. The goal of this course is to search how to combine effectively two different areas for the children's English.
20. CE720 아동극과 연출 (Children's Drama and Production) 3학점
아동극과 연출이란 아동문학작품을 통하여 실제로 아동의 영어교육과 오락을 위한 어린이연극 연출방법을 연구하는데 목적이 있다. 이론과 실제를 접목하여 현장에서 교사가 아동극의 연출자의 역할과 지도방법 및 드라마 표현 방법 등을 연구한다.

The goal of this course is to investigate the relation between the Bible and children's literature. The Bible is an excellent literary work as well as the sacred book of Christianity. We will examine religious and practical issues of the Bible in connection to Children's English by relating them with the message of salvation in Christianity and investigate how to use biblical dramas in teaching English.

크리스마스, 부활절, 추수감사절, 오순절, 성촉일(캔들머스), 종려주일등 계절별로 다양한 이벤트가 열리는 기간 중에 아동들이 공연하는 30분 이내의 연극을 지도하는 수업이다. 약 한 달정도 연습기간을 가지고 공연연습을 하도록 하고 이를 위한 적절한 대본을 찾아 계절극 공연을 위한 무대연습을 진행한다.

This course examines intonational characteristics in English such word stress, phrase accent, pitch accent, and boundary tones. Students get a systematic training for intonational marking of various samples of English sentences.

사회적, 역사적, 문화적 유산과 고유한 특질이 담긴 대표적인 영미아동문학 작품을 선별하여 비평적으로 읽고 심도 있게 분석하는 과정이다. 아동문학이란 특수한 관점에서 이들 작품 속에 내재된 문학적 특징과 서사적 표현 방식들을 살펴보고 더 나아가 작가의 의도가 표출되는 여러 가지 심리적이고 심미적인 측면들을 비교할 것이다.
Special Topics of Children's Literature I is to investigate and annalize critically various aspects of representative children's literature selected for its social, historical and cultural qualities. After examining these topics, students will be guided to study particular characteristics in relation to the narrative's expressing methods of children's literature. They will be asked to compare the psychological and esthetic aspects of them through which the authors make their intentions and ideas known narratively.

구미에서 학술적인 논란을 불러일으킨 아동문학의 문제작 들을 선별하여 비평적으로 심도 있게 분석할 뿐만 아니라 학술적인 심화과정을 통해 체계적인 이론적 연구를 병행한다. 이들 아동문학들이 지닌 독특한 문학적 특징과 독창적인 서사적 표현 방식들을 통해 심리적이고 심미적인 측면들을 분석하고 비교할 것이다.
This course is designed to study critically further special aspects of children's literature which has caused enormous impacts and serious problems in this area. After looking critically at the topics, students will be asked to examine the psychological and esthetic aspects of them through which the authors make their characteristic intentions revealed narratively.
